Earth-day-Birth-day!

Happy Birthday to my favorite brother, Joseph. I am so happy you were born. I remember you didn't learn to walk until you were, like, 3 because we treated you like our doll and carried you everywhere. It's so incredible to see you now, all grown up... a real man! I'm so proud of you... your nice job, fancy car, awesome girlfriend, swanky apartment... you are really living! You are so caring and sweet, and I can actually recall the day that I grew out of the 'I have an annoying little brother phase' to the 'my brother is one cool dude' phase. You are always the first to call me on my birthday, when I am sick, if I have good news... you have always shown me you care. I can not tell you how much I appreciate you, and you always being there. You have helped me so much through my recent sickness... all your well-wishes and checkin' in's. Jordan and I both wish we could see you more. We talk about you all the time, and could not have been more proud to have you stand up in our wedding. It has been such a pleasure watching what life has had to offer you, and we are eager to continue watching with loving hearts and eyes. You are a true one-of-a-kind monitor-cereal-bacon-french fry-steak-pepperoni- eating gem. ... and we love you! We'll be thinking of you all day. Happy Birthday, Little Bro.

Happy Birthday, Jadyn! I can't believe how O-L-D you are. We miss you tons and wish we could be with you for your big day... We're thinking of you all day. Tilly tried to run away to come see you today, but when she found out "NO dogs allowed in Disneyland", she came back. She's home, dreaming on her little pillow about you and eating your birthday cake with you. Love you tons and hope to see you soon! We look forward to watching you grow up year after year. Can't wait to see what the world has in store for you, smart ladybird!

Such Great Heights

We celebrated the day with a beautiful hike on the peninsula. We went for the gorgeous views, and I swear they get more spectacular every time I am in this particular spot. It feels like the top of the world, literally. We are so lucky this kinda jaw-dropping wow is in our own backyard.

Sun Kissed

What a glorious summer day at the beach! Such great energy flows through my veins when the sun is out- the ocean breeze smells so sweet and there is no better feeling in the world. The streets are abuzz with people hanging out, catching some rays, having a good time in this heavenly weather. Of course we were in the sun as well; preparing our yard for spring- planting poppies, marigolds, zinnias, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, basil, etc.. Hopefully we'll be enjoying the fruits of our labor. We'll cross our fingers.

DeVries Monthlies

Man oh man, it's been a while since I've posted around the likes of here. I have been battling just about every illness, sickness, pain, discomfort known to man lately.. But I am on the mend. As hard as it is for me to take time to 'heal', I am trying to do this slowly and give myself some time.

But, it's spring... and the season is new, and the world is turning beautiful in the spring-blossom, tulips-peaking up, daffodils-at-Trader-Joe's kinda way. Boy, is it pretty. We have been trying to spend lots of time at the beach, just walking and wandering. So good for the soul.
