Vacation...

Trying to get back into the swing of things since our amazing workless week has been sucking all my energy lately.

All's Good in the DeVries 'Hood...

My touch-and-go hydrangea is blooming...

three varieties of tomatoes...

(basil being the favorite)..

first bloom on the tall, tall, tall wildflowers

that are supposed to "bring butterflies home"

(which inspired this post, as I have waiting

months)!

A happy garden makes me feel so good!

We also have big, blooming zucchini blossoms

that are gorgeous.

I, unfortunately, did not get

a green thumb from my mother..

but it's amazing what will

happen when you combine

-a little good potting soil

-water

-sunshine...

Voila!

Makes our home a happy place!

Fourth

After our "Firecracker Race",

we celebrated the 4th with our first

(vegan) Traditional English Breakfast with some dear friends.

Good food= Good day!

Time Together

Spent last weekend playing hooky,

watching some World Cup (note our Team USA pride),

some mixology, movies,

shopping, plenty of treats,

truth serum, good talks,

walks, laughs, eats,

bike rides, brunches,

bloody marys, sunshine,

Hollywood, over-spending,

red sparkly nail polish,

times with friends,

and all around savoring life.

What it is all about, folks.

I may be late to pick up on these adorable candles, but I am so in love with them!

As a huge fan of 'cute',

yummy-smelling candles,

tins,

and matchbooks alike-

this little gem is perfection.

As previously mentioned, I had mild candle anxiety

trying to find a new one with a friend yesterday.

(It could have been because we had a pretty strict criteria.

It also could have been because I just generally can't make a decision).

When we spotted these, we could not deny we 'needed' one...

but of course I still had a hard time deciding

(go figure)

which one I wanted first.

Imagine my delight as we were walking out of the store

and my dear, sweet, sneaky friend

handed me a gift bag, beautifully wrapped.

Inside?

The best lil candle I've had in quite some time.

Hanging with a best girlfriend at the beach- shopping, chatting, eating... definitely restores one's spirit (even if candle shopping anxiety creeps in).
